Buddhism teaches that the source of human suffering is attachment to the body and mind. Anyone who is spiritually inclined recognizes that you can die physically and not be free. You can also die mentally and not be free, as in psychosis or being “brain-dead”.
Franklin D. Roosevelt said “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself”. This statement is either the gibberish babblings of a lunatic, the voice of the devil, or a personal cry for help.
